Service Level AgreementEnsuring your web server, whether it is a dedicated web server or a web server in a shared web hosting environment, operates smoothly and seamlessly is important to most businesses using the internet. So as well as a good level of support you should look at the Service Level Agreement (SLA) offered by web hosting companies. The Service Level Agreement (SLA) will set out terms such as the level of uptime of web servers, response time to support issues etc. If the web hosting company cannot fulfill their service level agreement, they may pay compensation, but this depends on the individual SLA. Most good web hosting providers will offer 99% internet uptime, but some offer 100% uptime thanks to multiple redundant internet connections and replicated web sites. Your web hosting contract may or may not be limited to a certain amount of bandwidth, and the SLA will probably detail this along with details on how they can support the bandwidth requirements and how they can increase capacity if required.
